Kartini had felt that she was in elementary school until she graduated from elementary school. Her thirsty character for knowledge made her continue to pursue higher education. However, her father did not give permission to Kartini to be able to continue her education. Knowing her father's attitude, Kartini very sad but he couldn't change his father's decision. Kartini is no longer allowed to leave the house until it is time for her to get married or fill it in. To get rid of her boredom. Kartini spends her time reading books of science that she has. Her hobby of reading has become Kartini's daily routine. in fact, he did not hesitate to ask his father if there was something he did not understand or did not understand. Gradually, the knowledge he had was increasing and his insight became wider.many works and thoughts of European women that he admired. Moreover, their freedom to continue in school. That sense of admiration really inspired her to be able to advance women in Indonesia.In her point of view, women do not only have to be able to work in the back of the household. But more than that, women must also be able and have broader insight and knowledge. He also began to move to gather his female friends to be taught to read and write. Every day, KArtini is increasingly busy with reading and teaching activities. Kartini also had many friends in the Netherlands and often communicated with them. In fact, she had asked Mr. J.H Abendanon to be able to give her a scholarship to study in the Netherlands. Before the request was granted, she was married to a Rembang Duke named Raden Adipati Oyodiningrat. Based on historical data, R.A Kartini went with her husband to Rembang after they got married. Even so, Kartini's ideals never matched. It was fortunate that she had a husband who was very supportive of her goals. Thanks to her husband's persistence and support, Kartini was able to establish women's schools in various regions, such as in Semarang, Surabya, Yogyakarta, Madiun, Malang, Cirebon and other areas. At that time, women's schools were known as Kartini schools. Kartini was a Javanese woman who had views beyond her time at that time. Even though she herself was shackled by the times that bound her with customs, on September 17, 1904, Kartini died at the age of 25, after giving birth to her first and only child.She is one of the women who pioneered the emancipation of women in the land of Java. Her correspondence with friends in the Netherlands was later recorded by Abendanon with the title "Door Duistemis Tot Licht" or what we usually know as "Out of Darkness Is the Light". This book is a book. one of the books that have inspired many women in Indonesia. Not only women in their day, but to this day.In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 108 of 1964 Krtini was officially given the title of being a national hero by the Indonesian government. This Presidential Decree also set April 21 as Kartini Day.
